Wildcats Snap Skid With Overtime Triumph Versus Texarkana

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program was down one of their top performers due to an injury but still found a way to gut out its first victory in nearly three weeks, sweeping the season series with Texas A&M-Texarkana in a 64-62 overtime thriller.

  • DaKayla Howard dished out a career-most eight assists including seven dimes in the first half alone, grabbing seven boards as well in addition to sending an Eagles shot attempt back in their face.
 
  • Princis Goff must love seeing TAMUT on the schedule after dropping 34 points including the game-winning three-pointer in the first matchup before going off for a team-best 23 points and 15 rebounds (season-high) to notch her fifth double-double of 2023-24 on Thursday.
 
  • Journi Singleton had by far the best night of her freshman campaign so far, nearly putting together a double-double herself by collecting personal benchmarks of 12 points and nine boards on 6-of-9 (66.7%) shooting.
 
  • The Lake Charles native entered the game with 11 points and nine rebounds over her first nine games at LCU, ending the evening by doubling both statistics.
 
  • Yahzmynne Andrews sent not one, not two, but three Texarkana shots into the cheap seats to set a new benchmark for her tenure while Olivia Scott logged a season-high eight boards on top of nine points with both women swiping a pair of steals.
 
Notes:
 
  • The ladies committed a season-low 12 personal fouls, surrendered a campaign-best 30.9 (21-for-68) field goal percentage, and had its most offensive rebounds during RRAC action at 25.
