Howard Has Career Night As Cats Suffer Tough Setback Versus Saints

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program dominated on the glass (47-30), however turnovers continuously killed momentum as the Saints from San Antonio squeaked by the Wildcats during a 65-63 tough luck loss.

  • DaKayla Howard had a game to remember, dropping career-highs for points (15), field goals (6), and rebounds (8), shooting 54.5% from the floor (6-of-11), and led the offense in points, assists (4) as well as steals (2) while connecting on both of her long distance calls.
 
  • Maya Washington logged a season-most 11 points and four buckets on top of a new personal record for boards, tying Princis Goff for the game's top rebounder with nine.
 
  • Goff narrowly avoided her first matchup as a student-athlete of LCU without posting at least ten points, putting together 11 despite foul trouble.
 
  • Deja Tanks notched yearly bests regarding both free throws made and assists at eight and three, respectively, in addition to rejecting a pair of blocks for the first time in her Wildcats career as both swats came in the opening frame.
 
Notes:
 
  • Coming off a disastrous stint from the free throw line Thursday, the Cats got back to converting the freebies with its second-highest percentage from the charity stripe this year at 84.2% (16-for-19).
