HAWKINS, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball program has its eyes set on extending the hottest start in team history this weekend when it invades the E.W. Rand Center for both squads' Red River Athletic Conference openers.

Louisiana Christian Wildcats:
 
  • The ladies from Pineville are currently off to its first 2-0 start in program history in 2023, sweeping both Jarvis Christian and Wiley at the Labor Day Classic held last weekend.
 
  • Volleyball ranks second in the nation for blocks per set (3.17), inside the top-15 regarding service aces per set (2.50), and top-30 in points per set (16.7).
 
  • A trio of ladies have made their presence known above the net so far this season as Kierra Jones (1.67), Kate Campbell (1.33), and Julie Bordeau (1.20) are 4th, 15th, and 31st in the NAIA for blocks per set, respectively.
 
  • Emma Cother, the reigning RRAC Setter of the Week, slots in as having the 31st-best assist per set ratio in the NAIA at 9.20.
 
  • Katie Spell is the runner-up nationally for services aces per set, trailing only Pikeville's Cheyenne Martinez (1.33) with 1.20.
 
Jarvis Christian Bulldogs:
 
  • Jarvis Christian has already competed in six matches, sporting sweeps over Williams Baptist and Wiley after dropping its first three versus Freed-Hardeman, Philander Smith, and Southwestern Christian along with the loss to LCU.
 
  • The Bulldogs' two All-RRAC First Teamers from a year ago are back to business this campaign as Newcomer of the Year Asiah West plus Aaronyana Wilson are the two leaders with a combined 33 kills.
 
  • Jasey Roy (13 digs) and Kasandria Camereno (12 digs) are the top defenders, Wynter Jones (7 aces) and Johnice Hubbard (5 aces) are dangerous behind the service line, and Kiah Barron (9 blocks) likes to reject opponents.
