Volleyball Bounces Back With Sweep Of Huston-Tillotson

 
AUSTIN, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball program kept its head firmly above .500 and erased the memory of Friday's defeat, taking the match from HTU in straight sets to improve to 7-5 on the season.

Wildcats Top Performers:
 
  • Another day, another double-double for Emma Cother as she collected the tenth of her 32-match career (31.3%) at a game-best 32 assists (10.67 p/s) and 12 digs (4.00 p/s) to go along with a pair of kills and blocks plus an ace.
 
  • Carlie Horton set a new personal-record for digs at 13 as she co-led for the match lead with Katie Spell and Leah Stamps while Stamps tallied her second kill of the season from the libero position.
 
  • Julie Bordeau went for a career/match-high three blocks (1.00 p/s) while smacking a season-most five kills (1.67 p/s).
 
  • Spell (7), Megan O'Neal (6), and Kierra Jones (5) all logged five-plus kills to help the offense with the latter two contributing hitting percentages north of .300 as well.
 
Notes:
 
  • LCU had its most efficient day of the conference slate so far, recording 40 kills and 16 errors over 110 attempts for a .218 hitting percentage.
 
  • Coach Salloum's squad also limited the Rams to only two blocks at the net, the least given up in all of its dozen contests to date.

  • The Orange and Blue open up a three-match homestand on Friday with Paul Quinn College at 7 p.m. with Senior Day being the following afternoon.
