Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Devin Briscoe led the charge by ground, averaging over a first down per carry (10.4) for a game/season-high 156 yards, a touchdown, and also reeled off a career long 57-yard breakaway.

  • The dual-threat also caught three passes out of the backfield for an additional 28 yards.

  • Daylon Charles went over the century mark as well, dashing 104 yards on 15 touches (6.9 YPC) on top of hitting paydirt.

  • Sammy Feaster has firmly planted his flag as the go-to wideout for the QB room, going for 100 yards for the first time on just three receptions which saw him reel in a new personal-long 56-yard catch.

  • Sal Palermo III has made the most out of defenses keying heavily on the running game, needing just 11 completions to fire off 215 passing yards, two scores, and a 64.7% completion percentage (11-for-17) in addition to 11 carries that saw him eat up 54 yards.

  • What's better than a first career collegiate catch . . . his first career touchdown. This was the case for freshman Sema'J Hayes who caught a 59-yard strike from Palermo for six points, his only ball of the evening.

  • Another freshman, Marc Denison has a knack for scoring on his lone chance of games, one play equaled one touchdown for the second week in-a-row, running for a touchdown versus ABC and catching a four-yard pass against Langston for a perfect 100% touchdown rate.

  • Tyren Young, the reigning SAC Defensive Player of the Week, was the contest's top tackler, bringing down double-digit ball carriers for the first time in his career with an even ten including a tackle for loss for the third game in-a-row.

  • Andre Reed did something that only took him until his 34th career game to accomplish, snatching an interception deep in Wildcats territory to halt a potential scoring drive in its tracks. The playmaker led the defense with 1.5 TFLs and collected another seven tackles of which six were solos.

  • In the kicking game, Mason Ingram averaged 44 yards per punt plus one that went 50, and Hunter Martensson blasted 253 yards worth of kickoffs with a touchback.

Notes:

  • For the seventh straight game, the Wildcats have rushed for at least 250 yards and at least three touchdowns, scoring three times on the ground on Saturday while racking up 331 net yards from scrimmage.

  • LCU also kept its offense on the field in critical third down situations, converting on half of its attempts by going 5-of-10.

Next:

  • The home turf beckons once more as the Pioneers of Wayland Baptist trek into Pineville on Saturday for a 6 p.m. tussle.
