PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program recognizes men's golf's Stanislas Sztur and women's basketball's Princis Goff as this week's LCU Student-Athletes of the Week as he was the top performer in the team's first place finish during the Dallas Christian Collegiate Pro-Am while she led the Wildcats in multiple categories during their lone game of the week at Southern University. There were no men's programs active this week, so instead of leaving the male section blank, we decided to acknowledge the golf program's brightest star from its last event that took place from November 13 to 14.
Sztur, a sophomore from Lyon, France, sported the lowest round of the entire competing field in the opening round with a 70 before adding on a 74 during the final portion of the tournament for a total score of 144, which landed himself in second place overall.
Goff, a sophomore guard / forward from Atlanta, Louisiana, led the Wildcats with 15 points, six rebounds (five on offense), and a game-high three steals while swishing half of her eight buckets. The five-foot-nine Psychology major tops the team in field goal percentage (.522), points per game (21.0), steals (15) and free throws made (29) in addition to a healthy rebounding average of 7.4.
The golf team has yet to release its Spring 2024 schedule while the women are back at home on both Thursday and Saturday for its final two Red River matchups before the holiday break in a pair of doubleheaders versus Paul Quinn and Southwest (New Mexico), respectively.
