Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- Jones was in his bag on a rainy Thursday on the Texas-Arkansas border, splashing all five of his three-point attempts and 7-of-9 (77.8%) overall en route to a team-high 23 points off the bench.
Â
- Drew Tebbe has now made his last four long-range buckets on the campaign, being the only other Wildcat to score in the double-figures with 14 including two offensive rebounds.
Â
- Konnor DeJean set a new career-high for points with seven, most of which came from the charity stripe as he hit five freebies.
Â
- Branthony Brown cracked the starting lineup for the first time this year and came away with his first career multi-assist affair (2) in his 44th game for the Cats.
Â
- Jude Akabueze logged eight points and five rebounds during his 13 minutes of game time, D'Marcus Fugett topped the visitors at six boards, and Tre Pullins contributed a squad-most four assists as well as the solo block.
Â
Notes:
Â
- In five all-time meetings between the Eagles and Wildcat, each side has alternated wins and losses after TAMUT took the first ever contest back in January of 2021.
Â
- LCU held the Red, White, and Blue to less than 20 rebounds (19) on the evening for a plus-12 margin, however they committed almost twice as many turnovers (13-7).
Â
- The visitors from Pineville were blistering hot from the field and on deep balls, hitting 8-of-14 (57.1%) from downtown while draining 52.2% from the court (24-for-46).
Â
Next:
Â
- Coach Mason's men will face a daunting task trying to avoid the unenviable 0-2 hole to start league play when they travel to the 7th-ranked LSUS Pilots for a 4 p.m. showdown on Saturday.
