OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Louisiana Christian University football program kept its streak of winning at least one weekly award alive for another day as placekicker
Levi Hilborn kicked his competitors to the curb to win Sooner Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
Â
Hilborn, a sophomore from La Porte, Texas, carried the offense through a sluggish first half in Goodwell on Saturday night, connecting on field goals of 20, 25, and 30 yards to account for all nine points as the two sides hit the halftime locker rooms.
The six-foot Economics and Finance major scored 11 points in total after tacking on a pair of point after tries in the second half while his three boots through the uprights tied a career-high.
Â
For the year, he has made 5-of-6 field goals (83.3%) with the only miss being blocked, he is 23-for-24 on PATs (95.8%), has launched ten kickoffs a total of 508 yards including one touchback, and punted twice in the win over East Texas Baptist with one of those being a coffin corner in the Tigers' redzone.
Â
Hilborn and the Wildcats meet the Stallions of NAU for the second time in team history on Saturday, looking to avenge its 42-41 setback in its only prior matchup in August of 2021.
