Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Aniah Adams went for a double-double of a Wildcats-best 16 kills (3.20 p/s) plus a season-high 16 digs (3.20 p/s), her second of the season with the other also coming against the Ladies. The double-double was the eighth of her five-year tenure at LCU.

  • Megan O'Neal had a career night in Shreveport with her first ever double-double, clubbing a campaign-most dozen kills (2.40 p/s) and a personal-record 11 digs (2.20 p/s) in addition to hitting .303.

  • Emma Cother was the third and final student-athlete to have "double-double vision", nabbing her eighth of the season and 14th in 38 matches (36.8%) as a Cat by setting a match-most 41 assists (8.20 p/s) on top of 17 digs (3.40 p/s).

  • Kierra Jones was a beast, putting together a career-high 20 points (4.00 p/s) courtesy of a season-best 14 kills (2.80 p/s), a match-most five blocks (1.00 p/s), and a tied for team-high .303 hitting percentage.

  • Leah Stamps was the top defender on the court, going for a game-high 28 digs (5.60 p/s) along with eight assists (1.60 p/s) as she has now topped double-figures on defense in four of the last six (66.7%).

  • Freshman Nija Polk had her best evening of her debut campaign, going for yearly bests regarding points (7, 1.40 p/s), kills (6, 1.20 p/s), digs (2), and blocks (first solo).

  • Madison Danley was yet another Wildcat to set a new career benchmark, doing so with 19 digs (3.80 p/s) while being the lone player on the visiting side to record multiple service aces (2).

  • Finally, Morgan Mills raised her career-best number for digs as well, moving it up to an even dozen after the five-set thriller.

Notes:

  • The Cats have come a long way in the short time as Coach Salloum's teams had won a combined 16 games between their debut season in 2017 through 2021 but have now notched double-digit wins in each of the past two years and clinched its first winning regular season.

  • In quite possibly the longest match of the campaign time-wise, the Orange and Blue set season-highs for both attack attempts (217) as well as digs (112) by a wide margin.

  • The Wildcats improved to 9-13 (40.9%) all-time and 2-1 (66.7%) in five-set matches this season, taking down Jarvis Christian on September 9 while falling to Dillard on October 10.

Next:

  • Red River Athletic Conference opponents are all that remains for the Wildcats with their final four matches being played in the friendly confines of H.O. West Fieldhouse. The season-ending four-game home stand starts on Friday against the second place OLLU Saints at 6 p.m. on-campus.
