PINEVILLE – The Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University scored 26 runs over two games Saturday to complete a four-game, weekend sweep of Dillard (La.).

The Wildcats won Saturday's contests by scores of 12-0 and 14-1. Both games were scheduled for seven innings.

In each of Saturday's games, the Wildcats had five players knock two or more base hits as they ran the basepaths and crossed home plate seemingly at will. LCU players collected 10 extra-base hits during the afternoon, including a home run by
Peyton Lamartiniere and three doubles from
Ju'Juan Franklin in Saturday's opener.

The Wildcats continue their homestand this weekend with a three-game exhibition series against John Melvin University out of Crowley, La. The series begins with a Friday doubleheader for a 2 p.m. start.

GAME ONE: Wildcats 12, Dillard 0
LCU broke the game wide open in the middle innings with four runs in the fourth inning and another five the following inning.

Franklin led the 'Cat bats by going 4-for-4 with three doubles – all in his first three at-bats – and three RBIs. His first inning double that scored
Adrian Aguilar proved to be the game-winning RBI.

Lamartiniere's home run – the first by an LCU player in 2023 – capped the four-run fourth. His two-run blast that also scored
Nicholas Brunet gave the Wildcats a 6-0 lead.

Brunet,
Drake Angeron,
Braxton Cooksey, and
Nick Lorio all tallied two base hits and an RBI apiece in the opener.

Meanwhile,
Cy Fontenot turned in the best starting pitching performance in a weekend full of great showings on the mound for the Wildcats. The Pineville native and transfer from UNO struck out six batters over four innings and allowed just one hit.

Trip Flotte struck out two batters over two innings of relief, while
Chase Gardner tossed a scoreless seventh to finish the game.

GAME TWO: Wildcats 14, Dillard 1
The Wildcats doubled their output with a seven-run sixth inning to complete the series sweep.

Lorio went 2-for-2 with five RBIs, which included a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning.

Brunet went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Angeron, Cooksey, and
Adrian Aguilar all collected two hits in Saturday's second game. Jett Aubé knocked a two-RBI single in the sixth inning after entering the game as a defensive replacement.

Beau Hebert picked up the win for the Wildcats. He started the game and pitched four shutout innings, striking out four batters during his appearance.
Seth Whitney struck out two batters during his inning of relief.
