HOBBS, N.M. – Louisiana Christian University's women's basketball team returned to its winning ways with a 69-65 win at the University of the Southwest (N.M.).

Miya McKinney (Ville Platte, La. / LSU–Eunice) posted a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead three Wildcat players in double-figures as LCU (3-4) improved to 1-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play.

In leading all scorers playing in the contest, McKinney shot 9-of-15 from the field, while seven of her 14 rebounds were on the offensive end of the court.
Olivia Scott (Lafayette, La. / Comeaux) scored 18 points for the Wildcats, while
Claire Borot (Le Robert, Martinique / University of Mary [N.D.]) added 12 points.

Alexis Lavarine (New Orleans, La. / John Curtis Christian) chipped in eight points off the LCU bench. Tamaria White led Southwest (2-7, 0-1 RRAC) with 16 points.

The Wildcats return to action Thursday, Dec. 15, when they travel to Austin to face Huston-Tillotson to open a two-game road trip to Central Texas. Tipoff against the Rams is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
