SAN ANTONIO – Louisiana Christian University's women's basketball team handed Our Lady of the Lake its first loss in Red River Athletic Conference play Saturday as the visiting Wildcats claimed a 63-57 win over the Saints.

Paola Abad Prieto (Barcelona, Spain) came off the LCU bench and scored 21 points in 19 minutes to lead the Wildcats (4-5, 2-2 RRAC) to the victory. Abad Prieto shot 6-of-8 from the floor and made three out of her five 3-point attempts.

Claire Borot (Le Robert, Martinique, France) scored 11 points and pulled in five rebounds for the Wildcats, while
Olivia Scott (Lafayette, La. / Comeaux) chipped in 10 points off the bench.

OLLU (8-4, 5-1 RRAC) led by as many as 12 points in the second quarter but took a 31-26 lead into halftime. The Wildcats kept pace with their hosts throughout the third quarter, and trailed 42-38 entering the final period.

Borot's 3-pointer at the 9:21 mark of the fourth quarter tied the game and started a 9-0 LCU run that saw the Wildcats take a 50-44 lead with 5:07 left to play in the game. The Saints were unable to trim LCU's lead below three points for the remainder of the contest as the 'Cats shot 75 percent from the field (9 of 12) and from 3-point range (3 of 4) during the game's final 10 minutes.

The Wildcats return to action Tuesday, Dec. 27, when they visit Tougaloo College for the first of two games in Mississippi. Tipoff against the Lady Bulldogs is scheduled for 6 p.m.
