ACKSON, Mississippi – The Louisiana Christian University men's basketball team picked up their first win on the season, 84-62, over Millsaps College Wednesday.
LCU led the game from wire to wire as Delor Johnson opened the scoring for the Wildcats, who never looked back.
The Wildcats grew their lead to as big as 15 heading into the half.
In the second half, LCU continued to dominate MC as they would see a lead as big as 26 before the final whistle.
Three-point shooting, as the Wildcats were 12-for-26 (46.2%), and double digit scoring by Gary Smith and Johnson would be the propelling force behind the team's first win.
Smith would score 21 on 3-for-4 shooting behind the arc while Johnson would spend his time cutting into the paint and scoring 15 of his own.
With their first win of the season, the Wildcats moved to 1-2 on the season. The team will continue their tour of Mississippi next week as they will play against William Carey University on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m.
