Women's Tennis Goes 2-2 in Jackson

The Louisiana College women's tennis team returned to action over the weekend as they traveled to Jackson, Mississippi to have back to back doubleheaders. The Wildcats had a huge variety of opponents as they took on Tougaloo University, Mississippi University for Women, Huntingdon College, and conference foe Belhaven. The games saw mixed results for the ladies as they pulled out two wins, but also suffered two losses.

Tougaloo

The first action of doubles saw Emma Hixson and Que'eria Hampton fall with a score of 8-1, but the ladies won their last two rounds of doubles as Mckenna Raines and Chasity Som won 8-3, and Caitlyn Scheibal and Diana won by default due to withdrawal.

Singles action saw Emma Hixson, Mckenna Raines, and Que'eria Hampton all pull out wins in their respective matches. This surge let the ladies come out with a series win of 6-3.

Mississippi University for Women

The ladies escaped Mississippi University for women with a narrow victory following their series victory against Tougaloo. Doubles action took off with Emma Hixson and Que'eria Hampton lose their first match, but Mckenna Raines and Chasity Som made up for it with a win as well did Caitlyn Scheibal and Diana Soto who won by default.

Singles action helped the ladies escape as Mckenna Raines and Diana Soto pulled away with wins and helped the lady Wildcats take the series with a score of 5-4.

Huntingdon College

The ladies just simply could not get it going against Huntingdon College. The Wildcats could not got wins in doubles, and walked away with one point which was earned from an opponent forfeit. The offense was just nonexistent as Huntingdon walked away with a 8-1 dominating victory.

Belhaven University

The luck didn't get much better as the ladies took on conference rival Belhaven. None of the teams were able to win a round of doubles except Mckenna Raines and Chasity Som as they came away with a narrow 8-6 victory.

Emma Hixson walked away with only victories in singles as none of her teammates could find a win. Once the scores were tallied, the ladies lost the series with a 7-2 score.

The Lady Wildcats open up home action in Pineville, Louisiana this weekend as they take on John Brown University on Friday at 10 a.m., LSUA on Saturday at 1 p.m., and they close out the weekend action on Sunday at 1 p.m.. against Xavier University of Louisiana.
