PINEVILLE, La - The Louisiana College men's basketball team used a 10-0 run very early in the second half to blow open the game against Rhodes College as the Wildcats picked up a 78-66 win over the Lynx Friday night at H.O. West Fieldhouse.
Leading 36-30,
Denzel Austin got the key run started just 90 seconds into the second period as his jumper in the paint started the decisive run.
Jaylen Rhone completed the run with a fast break basket with just over 16 minutes left to give the Wildcats a 46-30 lead. There would be just three minutes left by the time the Lynx finally got the lead under double digits, but a
Louis Blakes lay-up on LC's ensuing possession got the lead back up to double digits to stay for the remainder of the contest.
Jaylen Rhone was the game high scorer with 23 points, hitting nine of 13 shot attempts, including two of his three attempts from deep.
Denzel Austin finished with 15 points.

The Wildcats (2-0) return to action next weekend in the Millsaps College Classic. LC's first game in the Classic is next Saturday, November 30
th against the host institution, Millsaps. Tip-off against the Majors (2-2) is set for 5:00 P.M. in the Hanger Dome.
