LORMAN, Miss. - The Louisiana College women's basketball team struggled through the first quarter, finding itself down 24 points after one period and could never recover in an 86-50 exhibition loss to the Alcorn St. Lady Braves Tuesday night at the Davey Whitney Complex.
The Wildcats were off the mark throughout the first five minutes of the contest, watching Alcorn go on a 19-0 run to start th game before
Sydnee Glass got the Wildcats on the board with a pair of free throws. The Lady Brave lead continued to build throughout the remainder of the contest. However, the Wildcats did finish the game strong, finishing the final four-plus minutes with a 13-2 run, started by another pair of free throws by Glass, and capped by a mid-range jumper by
Aja Jordan for the game's final points.
Sydnee Glass led the Wildcats with 12 points and nine rebounds, coming one board shy of a double-double.
Morgan Blades added nine points, five rebounds, and a pair of blocks.
The Wildcats (0-2) return to action on Thursday night, traveling up to Shreveport to take on LSU Shreveport. Tip-off against the Lady Pilots (3-2) is set for 5:00 P.M. at The Dock.
