Cross Country Chile Pepper Festival

The Louisiana College cross country teams spent the weekend in Fayetteville, Ark competing with more than 50 other teams in the annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas. The top finishers for the Wildcats were Nathan Anderson for the men who ran his 8 kilometer distance in 32:26.8 and Alyssa Hollier for the women who ran the 5 kilometer distance in 22:25.1.

The Wildcats joined more than 50 different schools from across all level of the NCAA for the annual event, including conference opponents LeTourneau, UT Dallas, ETBU, Ozraks, UT Tyler, Hardin-Simmons, and McMurry. Each of the Wildcat runners set new personal bests in their distances with Anderson leading the way for the men's team. Adam Hair (33:26.5), Camron Creasy (37:29.2), Johnathan Franklin (41:45.8), and Brock Spears (45:53.3) rounded out the top five for the Wildcats.

Like the men, each women's runner set new personal bests in the event led by Hollier's time. Twins Haleigh and Maycee Lachney were the next two finishers for the Wildcats with times of 22:55.8 and 22:28.2 respectively. Mysherie Johnson (25:50.6) and Essence Alexander (34:21.7) rounded out the top five for the Wildcats on the weekend.
