The Louisiana College men's and women's cross country teams traveled down to New Orleans to compete in the 2018 Allstate Sugar Bowl Cross Country Festival Saturday afternoon.
The men placed seventh out of nine finishing seven runners with the average time of 22:22.01, while the women placed seventh out of seven finishing five runners with the average time of 24:32.65.
Nathan Anderson was LC's top male finisher, placing 25th overall with the time 18:46.62 and
Haleigh Lachney with 23:05.87 placed 24th overall for the women.
"The student athletes had a really great start to the season," Head Coach LaTonya Loche said. "Given that this was our very first meet, I am very proud of all of them for trusting God to give them the courage to to start, compete, and complete their races. There's only one place to go from here and that is up!"
Both teams will compete in the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. on Friday the 21st.
