The Louisiana College Wildcats welcomed the Comets of the University of Texas at Dallas to Wildcat Stadium for an American Southwest Conference matchup. 

A hat-trick by Sofia Munoz helped secure a 5-0 finish for the Comets. 

Jessica Rusk opened up the scoresheet in the ninth minute after LC failed to clear Manny Avalos' cross, the loose ball fell to Rusk for an easy score to take the lead. 

Moments later, Munoz had her first score. A partially blocked cross was not enough to throw her off, volleying the deflected ball past Haley Clark for the second score of the afternoon. 

UT-Dallas maintained the majority of possession in the game, with changes to the point of attack, wearing down the LC defense waiting for the right chance to strike. 

In the  28th minute, a ball over the top by Rusk was enough for Munoz to run past the LC defense and chip Clark for her second and the team's third.

The Cats held the Comets until the end of the first half, an occasional string of passes kept them in the game but not creating a shot in front of goal in the first half would make the second half more challenging.

After a quick 15 minute break, the Cats would be down one more. Five minutes into the second half the Comets were back where they left off. 

Munoz would earn her hat-trick with a rebounded Keely Fillman's shot that hit the post and fell perfectly for a one time shot under Clark in the 50th minute, making it 4-0.

The Cats only shot on goal came in the 55th minute. Earning a freekick 30 yards from goal, Caitlyn Scheibel floated a ball to the back post and leaping up to meet the ball Ashlynn Folse headed the ball towards goal. Unfortunately, for Folse and the Cats Morgan Sherman was in position for the comfortable save, her only on the night. 

The final Comet goal came in the 66th minute, Rain Lybbert worked along the Cat's left side and fired in a grounded cross to Melissa Fulfer finishing it with a tap-in for the fifth goal. 


Clark was tested throughout the night, facing 20 shots and saving three; Folse had LC's only shot on goal while Chasity Som and Anndee Barr each had one shot.
