The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats traveled to Alpine, Texas, to face the Lobos of Sul Ross State University Thursday afternoon in an American Southwest Conference matchup, a must win for the Cats. A dominate Lobo offense took the game 2-0 over the Wildcats. LC will return to Wildcat Stadium for their final two home contests of the season next week.
Both teams bent but did not break during the first 45 minutes of play, the Cats weathered the storm of Lobo attacks, managing to keep the score level at zero. Sul Ross were the aggressor through the entire first half producing eight shots forcing
Haley Clark to make five saves to keep the scoreless tie.
The Lobos would finally crack the LC defense in the 51st minute with a perfectly placed shot in the upper 90, giving them a 1-0 lead. They added to their advantage and closed the game out in the 74th minute with a shot beating
Haley Clark to her near post. The Wildcats would only manage to produce one shot in the match, an effort from Molley Edelman that went wide of goal.
The Wildcats return home next week for the final two home games of the season against LeTourneau University Thursday afternoon and then against East Texas Baptist University Saturday afternoon for senior night.
