The Louisiana College Men's and Women's Tennis teams hosted Centenary of Shreveport on Tuesday afternoon for a series of singles and doubles matches at the Richard L. Crowell Tennis Center. The Wildcat Women were able to edge Centenary for the second time this year winning 5 matches to the Ladies 4. The LC men were defeated by the Gents 7-2 with multiple matches being decided in extra sets and in tiebreakers.
Angel Girod defeated her opponent (6-2, 5-7 (10-8)) and
Taylor Payne took down her singles opponent (6-0, 6-1). The Lady Wildcats won three other matches by default over the Centenary Ladies.
On the men's side four of the five matches played went to tiebreakers.
Andrew Sylvester (2-6, 6-2 (10-5),
Drake Battaglia (4-6, 6-4 (10-7)),
Charles Firmin (4-6, 6-4 (12-10) and
Matt Standiford (2-6, 6-1 (10-8)) all lost in tiebreakers to their singles opponents.
Both Men's and Women's Teams will travel to LeTourneau on Friday for their final matches of the seaon.
