Wildcat Basketball Week in Review

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 Louisiana College Men's Basketball team has won 2 and lost 2 games over the last week of play. 

It started back on January 30th vs. LeTourneau in Pineville.  A back and forth game set up for end game heroics for Anthony Gaines, Jr.  Gaines hit a deep jumper, just a step inside the three-point line, to put away LeTourneau 68-66.  Steve Evans led the Wildcats with 19 points, followed by Gaines's 18, and Raheem Regis's 11.

Next was a tough task.  Top seed in the conference, ETBU came to H.O. West  The Wildcats and Tigers went into the break all tied at 30.  With just under two minutes, LC trailed 53-55.  ETBU hit their free-throws throught the final minutes, causing the Wildcats to fall 55-61.  Anthony Gaines, Jr. led the Cats with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Steve Evans had a double-double of his own with 12 points and 13 boards.  Raheem Regis added 10 points for the Wildcats.

LC then went on the road to take on LeTourneau.  In a high scoring game, the two teams head into overtime knotted at 73 points a piece.  In overtime; however, LeTourneau took over, outscoring the Wildcats 22-11, leaving the final score LeTourneau 95 and LC 84.  Anthony Gaines, Jr. led the Wildcats with 32 points.  Raheem Regis also eclipsed the 20 point mark, putting in 24 points of his own.

Lastly, the Wildcats travelled to Tyler, TX, to take on UT-Tyler.  LC dominated all of the game, taking a 9 point lead into halftime, and continuing that into the second half.  The final score ended up LC 81, UT-Tyler 68.  Four Wildcats had double digits.  Anthony Gaines, Jr. led with 20 points.  Julius Jackson picked up 17.  Raheem Regis added 14, and Demetrice Birdlong scored 10 points.

LC has three games remaining on their regular season schedule.  They go on the road to play UT-Dallas and the University of the Ozarks.  Then they come back to Pineville for their regular season finale vs Belhaven on February 20th.
