The Louisiana College men's basketball team dropped an 81-69 decision to Division I opponent Alcorn State on Wednesday in Lorman, Mississippi in the Wildcats final game before New Year's.
 
The Wildcats appeared to be on the verge of another Division I upset when Jacquez Coleman tied the game at 50 when he drained a three-pointer with 9:42 left in the second half.
 
But the Braves would fight off the effort quickly, as they went on a 17-6 run over the next four minutes to take a 67-56 lead at the 5:19 mark to seize the momentum and eventually close out the win.
 
Coleman led LC's bench with 8 points while Kevin Lewis (20 points, 7 rebounds) and Anthony Gaines, Jr. (17 points, 7 rebounds) were high scorers for the Wildcats on the day.
 
LC will get back into conference play on Saturday as they take on Mary Hardin-Baylor at 3:00 p.m. at home in the H.O. West Fieldhouse.
