Already having established himself as one of the American Southwest Conference's top freshmen,
Anthony Gaines, Jr. put another stamp on a great season, as he nailed all nine of his field goal attempts from the field to finish with 21 points and 9 rebounds in a 78-66 win over the LeTourneau Yellow Jackets Saturday afternoon.
The LC bench (led by seniors
Edward Atkins,
Romanaski Williams, and Philip George) also gave the Wildcats a big spark during the pivotal matchup, as
Gene Rushing's bench outscored LeTourneau's 28-12.
Williams, who appeared the be unstoppable at times near the basket, finished with 12 points on 6-9 shooting and 4 rebounds.
Freshman
Kevin Cottonham registered a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 10 assists.
LeTourneau's Justin Jones was outstanding in his own right before fouling out in the 2nd half, as he finished with 14 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.
With their playoff hopes still in tact at 6-8 in ASC, will travel to Clarksville, Ar. on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. matchup against The Ozarks.
