LONGVIEW, TX - The Louisiana College men's basketball team moved to 3-0 in American Southwest Conference play with a 75-66 win over Letourneau in Longview, TX behind a big afternoon from point guard
Kevin Cottonham.

Cottonham would finish the day with a career-high 27 points on 7-12 shooting, including a 4-5 day behind the three-point line.

The Wildcats nearly saw a 17-point advantage disappear in the second half after their 58-41 lead at the 16:11 mark was cut to 67-64 with 3:30 left in regulation after a spirited comeback by the Yellow Jackets.

That was as close as LeTourneau would get, however, as the Wildcats would close on an 8-2 run to take the nine-point victory.

Saturday's win marked the first time all season that LC forward
Anthony Gaines, Jr. would fail to reach 20 points, as the sophomore finished with 13 points, six rebounds, and three steals.
Kevin Lewis also reached double figures for LC, scoring 11 points to go with a team-high four steals to pace the Wildcats' defense.

LC now stands at 3-1 overall, and sits atop the conference standings at 3-0. Next up for the Wildcats' in a huge home matchup against the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders, who played in the Division III National Championship game a season ago.
