After playing perhaps their toughest opponent all season on Thursday against UT-Dallas, the Lady Wildcats faced off against a much improved Ozarks team that was hungry to break Louisiana College's 44-game regular season home winning streak.
The results would once again not fall in the favor of LC's opponent, as Jason Tinsley's squad came away with an impressive 108-62 victory over the Eagles.
Natosha Gottlieb once again led the way, as she scored a team-high 19 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 5 helpers, and had a game-high 7 steals. The senior from Bolton High School did all of that in only 14 minutes of play, as she sat out most of the second half due to the score.
Danisha Allison also had a big game, as she recorded a double-double, going for 10 points and 12 rebounds, along with 2 steals and 2 blocks.
Sophomore point guard
Keana Frank led the Lady Wldcats up-tempo full court attack with 12 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
Efficiency was the key in the win for LC, as they dished out 22 assists compared to only 11 turnovers, while forcing the Ozarks into 36 turnovers compared to only 4 assists.
Kaci Willis (10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals),
Neka Jones (13 points, 2 assists), and
Skylar Chenevert (14 points, 3 steals) rounded out a group of six Lady Wildcats reaching double figures in scoring.
Fan and team favorite Marquita Bolden also chipped in a career high 7 points late in the second half, much to the pleasure of those in attendance.
LC now stands at 11-0 in ASC play, 16-1 overall. More importantly, they have full control of their own destiny going forward as they look to gain the #1 seed from the ASC East in the ASC Tournament.
The Lady Wildcats' next opponent will be a tough UT-Tyler team on the road. That game will start at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday January 24
