The Louisiana College women got off to their best start in recent memory last Saturday, logging wins over Holmes Community College and Rust College in non-conference action to go to 2-0 on the young season.
The Lady Cats defeated Rust 8-1 and Holmes 5-4.
In the Rust match, LC swept the doubles matches and went 5-1 in singles.
The pairing of
Taylor Henderson and Katie Pourciau defeated Mya Murry and Jessica Murry 8-3 while
Raquel Flaggert and
Elizabeth West and Jessica Clawson and Kelsey Hennigan blanked their respective opponents 8-0.
In singles action, Henderson defeated My Murry 6-1 and 6-1, Pourciau defeated Jessica Murry 6-3 and 6-3, Flaggert defeated Aslean Scott 6-4 and 6-4, Hennigan defeated Tracy Gordon 6-1 and 6-1 and Clawson won by default.
In the Holmes match, Henderson and Flaggert paired to win their doubles match 8-3. It was the only doubles win for the Lady Cats over Holmes.
In the singles matches, though, LC went 4-2 to claim victory.
Flaggert won 6-1 and 6-0, Pourciau won 6-4 and 6-1, West won 8-3 and Hennigan won 8-2.
