SHREVEPORT, La. – The Louisiana College men came up three points short in a road contest against Centenary. The Wildcats had one of their best showings of the last month but still fell 77-74 to the Gents in overtime.
LC (4-8) performed similarly to Centenary (5-7) – LC shot 39 percent from the field, Centenary 38.7 – but the Gents did a better job of getting to the free throw line, getting 31 trips to the charity stripe compared to 19 for the Wildcats.
In the end, 23 made free throws by Centenary compared to 19 by the Wildcats proved the difference.
The loss overshadowed one of the best performances of the year by LC senior post
Korey Salmon (Deville, La./Buckeye HS), who finished with a 19-point, 17-rebound double-double.

Jarrod Jackson (Albany, La./Albany HS) added 18 points and junior post
Derrick Gardner (St. Martinville, La./St.
Martinville HS) 11 points and three blocks for the Wildcats.
Centenary was paced by a pair of double-doubles – 27 points and 10 rebounds by Jonathan Blount and 20 points and 12 rebounds by Max Nakwaasah.
Louisiana College returns to action Thursday with a home game against American Southwest Conference opponent Ozarks.
