PINEVILLE, La. - The team didn't win, but in an 7-2 loss to LSU-Shreveport, the Lady Wildcats tennis team has something to brag about.
For the first time this season, a player, actually two, picked up a match win.
Taylor Henderson (West Monroe, La./West Monroe HS), the Lady Cats' No. 1, defeated Bernie Riles 6-1, 6-1 while
Raquel Flaggert (Baton Rouge, La./Homeschool), LC's No. 3, defeated Lindsey Crane 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
Unfortunately for the Lady Cats, LSU-Shreveport held the edge in the remainder of the matches.
In other singles action, Katie Moak defeated Pear Woodward 6-3, 6-1; Lauren Simmons defeated Alisha Ferguson 6-0, 6-0; Anne Kelly defeated
Daniele Lucas 6-0, 6-0; and Abby Archer defeated
Stephanie Baer 6-1, 6-0.
In double action, Riles and Moak defeated Henderson and Flaggert 8-1, Simmons and Crane defeated Baer and
Elizabeth Chappell 8-0 and Kelly and Haley Yelverton defeated Woodward and Lucas 8-2.
