#14/#6 Wildcats Drops Battle with #8/#11 LSU Alexandria

LCU Falls in Conference Battle of Teams Ranked in Top-15 of Both National Polls

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The #14/#6 Louisiana Christian University women's tennis team started a challenging week with a tough battle across the Red River, falling to the #8/#11 LSU Alexandria Generals 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at the LSUA Tennis Courts.

The lone point for Louisiana Christian (9-5, 3-1 RRAC) came in the number three singles match as Valeria Callejo took down her opponent from LSU Alexandria (7-3, 3-0 RRAC), 6-1, 6-1. That capped a solid day for Callejo as she and Raquel Coelho Rodrigues teamed up in doubles to win a 6-4 victory in the number two tandem match-up, salvaging one of the three doubles contests.

The Wildcats continue their busy week on Thursday as LCU and LSUA co-host the LCU/LSUA Tournament. LCU's first match in the Tournament will see the Wildcats take on RV/#18 Lewis-Clark State. Opening serve of Thursday's match against the Warriors (9-6) is set for 2 p.m. at the Richard L. Crowell Tennis Center.
