SAN ANTONIO, Texas. – The #5 seed Louisiana Christian University women's tennis program won a pair of singles matches but could not complete its fourth ranked win in-a-row, succumbing to the 20th-ranked #6 seed Our Lady of the Lake Saints in the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Game, 4-2.

• #6 Patricia Principal Pineda did her part, leaving no doubt in her flight versus Michaela Muller with a comfortable 6-2, 6-0 victory.

 

• Raquel Coelho Rodrigues was the other student-athlete to take the point during singles competition, needing a tiebreaker to get past the first set (7⁷-6⁵) before putting the pedal to the medal and putting Millie Wileman away in the second (6-2) on the top line.

 

• On court five, Adjowa-Sika Geli battled back from an opening defeat to force a rubber match against Ely Laure Ah-sou, producing scores of 3-6 and 6-4 before the contest was called.

 

• Alexandra Cedeno and Principal Pineda were victorious in their doubles showdown with Wileman and Muller, topping the duo out of the first slot in doubles play (6-2).

• Louisiana Christian will now need to wait until April 29 to see if their season will continue at the NAIA Tournament in Mobile, Alabama, with their six ranked wins and program's first ever winning campaign proving their worthiness.
