TEXARKANA, Texas – The #2 seed Louisiana Christian University women's soccer program fell for the first time in exactly one month on Tuesday afternoon as the #3 seed Xavier (Louisiana) Gold Nuggets scored the first two goals then held on the rest of the way to dispatch the Wildcats in the RRAC Semifinals, 2-1.
 
The Orange and Blue dropped to 2-23 (8%) all-time against ranked / receiving votes opponents at the time of kickoff, 2-8 (20%) as an NAIA member.

• Elisa Lopez breathed new life into the offense, cutting the XULA advantage to one with about ten minutes to go in the first half as part of her multi-SOG day for goal number four of 2024 and the sixth of her career.

 

• If this was Emma Monnet's last match, she at least went out fighting, serving up the assist to Lopez to give the French phenom a grand tally of 21 during her time on "The Hill".

 

• Lena Cogghe was the other player with more than one look at the goal for Head Coach Harrison Houle, placing both of her shots on-target.

 

• Daniela Gomez put two shots together and landed one between the pipes but snagged by the keeper.

 

• Tanika Rother, Maria Alonso, and Zoi Arkirvaki all got one shot-on-goal booted while Jaycee Woods stopped one ball for the Cats.

• Alonso tied Anna Champagne (2011-14) on the eighth rung of the career SOG ladder, notching the 39th of her tenure.

• Monnet's sixth assist of the year landed her in a three-way tie for the eighth-highest for a season by a student-athlete to go along with Taylor Shanas and Lindsey Jacobs' 2023 outputs.
