Wildcats Top Performers:
- Emma Monnet deposited her 12th goal of the 2023 campaign into the back of the net during the 31st minute which proved to be the game-winner, setting a new career-high for scores and points (29) in a season with the rocket.
- The French striker made up nearly half of the team's on-target shots with four and tied for the club's most total shots at five.
- Maryane Mafra played just as important of a role in the triumph, setting up the goal with her second assist of the season on top of a trio of shots.
- That was complete game shutout number four for Jaycee Woods who stopped three shots and faced eight more to keep HTU off the board and the Cats in the win column.
Notes:
- Half of the ladies' six Red River Athletic Conference victories have come via shutout while overall a clean sheet has accounted for five of its eight wins (62.5%) on the year.
- The Wildcats more than doubled up the Rams in terms of shot attempts (24-11) which led directly into a lopsided shots-on-goal display of 10-3, despite just the one score, and the visitors racked up a half-dozen more corner kicks than the hosts as well (7-1).
Next:
- Another huge showdown with massive conference implications looms on Saturday down the road in Victoria when LCU visits the UHV Jaguars at 1 p.m. in The Cage.
