ALEXANDRIA, La – The Louisiana College women's tennis team headed across the Red River to take on a national power in NAIA #15 LSU Alexandria, and battled valiantly, but the Lady Wildcats dropped the match to the Generals 7-0 Friday afternoon at the LSUA Tennis Courts.
The Lady Wildcats best showing in doubles came in the court three battle as
Chasity Som and
McKenna Raines earned three points but fell 6-3 as the Generals picked up the single point available in doubles play. Raines also had the best showing in singles play in the #5 match-up, taking a point off of her LSUA opponent before ultimately dropping the match.
The Lady Wildcats (0-2) return to action on Saturday in the first American Southwest Conference match of the season in Jackson, Miss. against Belhaven. Opening serve against the Blazers (0-1) is set for 12:00 P.M. at the Belhaven Tennis Courts.
