MARSHALL, Texas – The Louisiana College men's tennis team picked up some early wins against Texas Lutheran, but couldn't get the late results to fall the Wildcats way in a 6-3 loss to the Bulldogs Friday evening the Marshall High Tennis Courts.
Down 2-0 in doubles,
Matthew Geisel and
Tyler Carlin got the Wildcats on the board with an 8-7 (8-6) win in the battle of the top teams from both sides. Carlin and Geisel put the Wildcats into the lead with a pair of wins by retirement while leading their respective matches on courts one and two, respectively. But after that, LC couldn't pick up the two more wins needed to pull out the team win.
The Wildcats (0-1) look for their first win of the season in their first American Southwest Conference match of 2020 on Saturday, February 15
th against Belhaven. Opening serve against the Blazers (0-0) is set for 12:00 P.M. at the Belhaven Tennis Courts.
