PINEVILLE - Rene Schwartzenburg (Marksville, La./Marksville High) has been named American Southwest Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week after a stellar week in which she went 4-0 from the circle.

Schwartzenburg, a right-handed junior, earned three wins with complete games and picked up another in relief.

She recorded 32 strikeouts over 23 innings of work and yielded just two earned runs as she improved to 7-0 on the season.

Schwartzenburg also had a 16-strikeout game in a 7-0 win over Howard Payne at the ASC First Pitch Tournament in Farmers Branch, Texas , where the nationally-ranked Lady Wildcats had a 4-0 showing.

She joins teammate Kelsey Brown, who last week was the ASC East Hitter of the Week, as an ASC weekly award winner for the Lady Wildcats.
