PINEVILLE - Louisiana College junior right-hander Rene Schwartzenburg (Marksville, LA / MHS) has been named American Southwest Conference East Division Pitcher of the week for teh secodn consecutive time.

A week after pitching the Lady Wildcats to four wins in the ASC First Pitch Tournament, Schwartzenburg went 4-0 with 31 strikeouts and did not allow an earned run over 20 innings of work to lead the Lady Wildcats to the title at the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Panama City , Fla.

She was also named the Most Valuable Pitcher of the tournament. Schwartzenburg, who takes the division's top weekly pitching award for the second consecutive week, allowed just eight hits and only one run to cross the plate.
