Hixson named ASC Women's Tennis Distinguished Scholar Athlete

RICHARDSON, Texas –– Louisiana College's Meggie Hixson, East Texas Baptist University’s Kyle Pope and Adrienne Meier, University of Texas at Dallas’ Surya Prakash, Texas Lutheran University’s Angela Aufderhaar and Jacqueline Allen, Howard Payne University’s Ross Sidman and Hardin-Simmons University’s Brendon Kelso – all seniors – have earned the title of Distinguished Scholar-Athlete in their respective American Southwest Conference 2010 spring sport, the league office announced on this week.

RICHARDSON, Texas –– 352 student-athletes from 15 universities and colleges are among the individuals recognized by the American Southwest Conference on its Spring 2010 All-Academic honor roll, the league office announced on Tuesday (May 25). The sports included are baseball, golf, softball, tennis and track and field.

Senior Meggie Hixson had a great day versus Rust College, winning 6-0, 6-0 in singles action and pairing with fellow senior Jessica Ward for an 8-3 win in doubles play.
