A man of outstanding athletic ability and generous community service, Keith "Moose" Munyan was an all-around standout at Louisiana College.

A three-year letterman in football, Munyan was a versatile player. In 1956, he cavorted brilliantly as an end. In 1957 he sparkled at fullback earning Most Valuable Back honors, and in his senior season, he focused mostly on the halfback position. He was named team Most Valuable Player for his performance during his senior season.

Munyan also lettered in baseball at Louisiana College, proving versatility as first-baseman, outfielder, and pitcher. His first love, however, was for the pigskin.

After a short time as a free agent in the NFL, he suffered a heat stroke and came back to Louisiana in 1959 taking an assistant coaching position at Leesville High School. In 1963, Munyan took the head coaching position at Mangham High School, where he continued to coach for 27 years. He compiled an outstanding record at Mangham of 204 wins, 78 losses, and 6 ties. He has led his teams to 16 district championships and was selected District Coach of the Year 18 times. He has held various offices with the Louisiana High School Coaches Association, and was honored by the organization for 25 years of outstanding service.

Mayor Frellsen Reese proclaimed October 13, 1989 as "Coach Keith 'Moose' Munyan Day" in the town of Mangham in honor of Munyan's 27-year career with Mangham High School.

After the 1989 season, Munyan retired from the coaching position at Mangham; however retirement didn't keep Munyan away from football. He worked as an assistant coach with Riverfield Academy in Rayville who took the LISA AA State Championship this past year.

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted Keith "Moose" Munyan as a charter member of the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on February 22, 1992.
