The late G. Dalton Faircloth was an exceptional athlete and leader at Louisiana College in the 1930's.

Faircloth played basketball, football, tennis, and ran track. In both his junior and senior seasons, he was voted the "Best All-Around Athlete" on campus.

An All-Central forward from Bolton High School in Alexandria, Faircloth played center for the LC basketball team for four years and was captain of the team for three of those four years. "Fairbaby," as he was nicknamed by his teammates, finished his basketball playing career on a Wildcat team that ended the season 7-5 with Faircloth and Robert Tudor leading as top scorers.

Faircloth was a four-year letterman in tennis. He also ran the hurdles and 400 meter run for the track team.

He played halfback for the football team for four years, and the highlight of his junior football season was scoring both touchdowns of a Wildcat victory over Mississippi State Teachers' College.

During the 1934-35 season, Faircloth coached freshman basketball, football, and track and led the Kittens football team to a 4-1 record, one of the best in LC Freshman football history.

While a student at LC, Faircloth was very active in campus life. He was the Vice President of his junior class and a member of the Glee Club, the Art Club, and the Athenian Literary Society. He was also a three-year member of the "Orange L Club."

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted G. Dalton Faircloth into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame posthumously on February 23, 1996.
