LC Cross Country Team makes 2011 debut

Men's and Women's Results
RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana College men's and women's cross country teams competed in their first meets on Saturday, taking part in the Fourth Annual Mook Invitational at Louisiana Tech.

Senior Rachael Quarles posted a top-20 finish for the Lady Cats, checking in at 17 in the women's field with a time of 20:40.

Freshman Erin Biggs ran a 21:37 and placed 22nd while another freshman, Deville native Shelli Taylor, finished in 29th with a time of 24:12. A third freshman, Hollie Hubbard, finished in 32nd with a 25:30 while senior Stephanie Baer, LC's Runner of the Year the last two years and nursing an injury, placed 36th with a time of 26:14.

On the men's side, sophomore Michael Daigrepont was the Wildcats' top finisher with a time of 27:00, good enough for 36th.

Derek Moncada placed 39th with a time of 30:08, Joshua Jee 41st with a time of 30:51, Max Chou 42nd with a 30:52 and Todd Whatley 44th in a time of 32:55.

Next up for LC Cross Country is an October 3 trip to Natchitoches, La., for the 2011 Northwestern State Invitational.
