RICHARDSON, Texas –– Numerous student-athletes from 15 universities and colleges have been recognized by the American Southwest Conference on its 2010 Winter/Spring All-Academic honor roll.

The teams were announced by the ASC office on Friday (June 3) and include the sports of basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, softball and track & field.

A total of 39 representatives of Louisiana College's seven winter and spring sports as well as athletic training and sports information departments were among the honored.

From the men's basketball team: Edward Atkins (Lecompte, LA), Chukwuma Ekeh (Alexandria, LA), Phillip George (Baton Rouge, LA) and BJ Porter (Epps, LA).

From the women's basketball team: Janet Butler (Eros, LA), Natosha Gottlieb(Alexandria, LA), Katherine Taylor (Monroe, LA) and Roslyn Wilmer (Marksville, LA).

From the baseball team: Steven Davis (Monroe, LA), Justin Lacy (Bossier City, LA), Cody Laprarie (Bentley, LA), Jordan Meisner (Baton Rouge, LA), Justin Reed (Kinder, LA), Greg Uzee (Gretna, LA) and Chris Waguespack (Destrehan, LA).

From the golf team: John Willie (Prsopect, LA).

From the men's tennis team: Nathan Boles (Pineville, LA).

From the women's tennis team: Stephanie Baer (Monroe, LA), Taylor Henderson (West Monroe, LA), Daniele Lucas (Laurel, MD) and Pearl Woodward (Kinder, LA).

From the softball team: Kelsey Brown (Rayne, LA), Danielle Boudreaux (Lafayette, LA), Devan Greene (Kaplan, LA), Brianna Hall (Shreveport, LA), Rene' Schwartzenburg (Marksville, LA), Jordan Waldroup (Calhoun, LA), Carli Wheeler (Baton Rouge, LA) and Kelly Williams (Monroe, LA).

From the athletic training staff: Emily Breaux (Lafayette, LA), Abbie Golmon (Alexandria, LA), Joseph James (Alexandria, LA), Cory Mayon (Morgan City, LA), Nic Philpot (Pineville, LA), Nick Remedies (Many, LA), Michelle Turner (Pineville, LA) an d Justin Usey (Belle Chasse, LA).

From the sports information department: Brittany Dunn (Baton Rouge, LA), Vershal Hogan (Choudrant, LA), Matias Sarvela (Helsinki, Finland) and Chris Waguespack (Destrehan, LA).

To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have lettered in the winter or spring 2010-11 season, be in at least the second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or better.

A total of 47 student athletic trainers and student sports information directors were also honored.
