He added to that a first-team selection on the All-West Region team and the West Region Golden Glove, both awards voted on by coaches from within the region.

"His stats speak for themselves," Louisiana College Coach Mike Byrnes said. "He's an unbeleivable ball player and one of the best middle infielders in the country, both offensively and defensively."

The latest awards add to Marks' growing list of personal honors. He'salready been named American Southwest Conference East Player of the Year and ASC East First Team selection.

In 2011, Marks batted .340 with 48 hits, 12 homeruns, one triple, 10 doubles, 55 RBI and 46 runs scored. He started all 43 games for LC, led the American Southwest Conference in HR and RBI.

"I definitely feel honored on a personal level," Marks said. "It's a big honor for me to receive these types of awards in my first year at LC."

Marks was quick to point out that he viewed any individual accolade as a team accomplishment.

"I don't look at myself as an individual," Marks said. "It all comes back to the team. I have personal goals going into every year, but a lot of what I do comes from being surrounded by quality ball players. I had to have people on base to get all the RBI's I did. It's always a team effort."

In 2011, Marks and the Wildcats went 26-17 and 11-7 in American Southwest Conference East Division play, good enough for a tie for second in the division, and made their ninth postseason appearance in the last 11 years.

"We had a good group of guys," Marks said. "We had a great group of seniors who we will all miss, but we're already focusing on next year. We've got some quality young guys who we think will step in and fill key roles. Hopefully, we will achieve even more as a team in 2012."
