PINEVILLE, La. - In their 2011 home opener, the Louisiana College men's tennis team fell 9-0 to NCAA Division II opponent West Alabama, this in spite of some major improvements for the Wildcats.
The best showing of the day for LC came in the doubles competition when Josh Quebedeaux and
Daniel Bembenick put up a gallant effort in an 8-3 loss to Santiago Lopez and Lucas Nunez.
In the other two doubles matches, the LC tandem of Josh Jee and
Matt Powell fell 8-0 to Juan Felipe Tellez and V. Halpin and
Josh Bonadona and Chauvin lost 8-0 to C. Cook and Wes Taylor.
In singles action: Bembenick lost to Lopez 6-0, 6-1; Quebedeaux lost 6-0, 6-0 to Tellez; Lucas Cruz defeated
Michael Sumner 6-1, 6-0; Wade Covington defeated Jee 6-0, 6-0; Nunes defeated Powell 6-0, 6-0 and Kike Ruiz defeated
