PINEVILLE, La. – On Saturday, visitors to the Louisiana College-Sul Ross State basketball games were not asked for cash to enter. In fact, Louisiana College organizers wouldn't even take the money if it was offered.
Instead, admission was gained to the men's and women's games with can goods as the Louisiana College athletics family sought to collect canned goods for the Cenla Food Bank.
In a multiple-week effort, boxed were placed across campus for non-perishable donations. Saturday's game wrapped the effort.
All told, LC Athletics raised enough food to make a donation of 402 pounds of non-perishable items to the local food bank.
