PINEVILLE, La. – Recently, it was announced that junior goalkeeper Emily Breaux (Lafayette, La./Lafayette HS) had been named to the 2011 Louisiana Sports Writers Association's All-Louisiana Team.

“Emily is a great leader on and off the field and she is definitely deserving of this honor,” Louisiana College coach Bruce Deaton said. “I am proud for her and of her.” 

Breaux became the first LC women's soccer player to be named to this team, one featuring teams from all Louisiana collegiate programs.

“It's definitely an unexpected honor,” Breaux said. “And it's one I share with the entire team. As happy as I am to receive this award, I would trade it in a second for team accomplishments, which is what we will all be working toward in 2012.”

For the third time in her career, Breaux led the American Southwest Conference in saves, this year finishing with 213 and .761 save percentage.
