PINEVILLE, La. - A half dozen members of the Louisiana College Men's Soccer team, one that rebounded from a winless 2010 with three victories and a tie 2011, have earned postseason individual honors on the All-American Southwest Conference team.
Junior defender
Claudy St. Louis (Orlando, Fla./West Orange HS/Howard University) and sophomore midfielder
Collin Yammarino (Scott, La./Acadiana HS) were third-team selections.
St. Louis was one of two anchors of an LC defense that gave up 44 less goals in 2011 than 2010.
Yammarino, who had two assists on the year, was point man for the Wildcats offense.
Fout other Wildcats earned honorable mention on the team.
Junior
Peter McLean (Rockledge, Fla./Rockledge HS/Palm Beach Athlantic University) was, with St. Louis, the other half of the defensive backbone and served as team captain.
Sophomore
David Kam (Seoul, South Korea/Yettrang Academy), one of just five Wildcats to have played at Louisiana College in 2010, scored a goal and was a mainstay on the LC frontline.
Sophomore
Vinny Torres (Orlando, Fla./Olympia HS/Florida Atlantic) played virtually every position for LC in 2011 and finished with two goals and an assist.
Sophomore
Benny Barshai (Parkland, Fla./IMG Academies/Florida Atlantic) was one of the Wildcats' most potent offensive weapons and scored three goals and had one assist from his forward position.
