PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College baseball team's freshman class hasn't played a college game yet, but they've already represented the school and impacted the community.
Tuesday afternoon, members of the freshman class rang the bell for the Savation Army at several locations in Central Louisiana.
Some young men went to two donation locations at the Alexandria JC Penney, some to Sam's Club in Alexandria and others to a local Wal-Mart, but all attempted to raise money for a charity synonymous with the Holiday season.
Tuesday's effort was part of Wildcat Baseball's Community Outreach Program. Members of the team give of their time in many ways throughout the season – speaking to schools and visiting the local VA Hospital, among other services.
This year, the freshmen were selected to help the Salvation Army.
