The Louisiana College women's cross country team has continued to show improvement through early meets this season. Recently, the Lady Cats put their talents on display at a pair of regional meets.
On Sept. 24, the LC women visited a meet hosted by Centenary and had their best team showing in many years. Last Monday, the Lady Cats competed in a field of mostly NCAA Division I teams at the Northwestern State Invitational in Natchitoches, La.
In the Centenary meet, the Lady Cats took second in the team competition with 57 total points. Centenary was first with 18, LeTourneau third with 69 and Jarvis Christian fourth with 89.
Rachael Quarles took fourth with a 21:57 effort.
Hannah Lanier was ninth (24:49),
Melody Criswell 11th (25:55),
Hollie Hubbard 15th (25:58) and
Jessica Jacobe 18th (27:23).
At Northwestern State's meet, the women placed sixth as a team, but did get a top-30 showing from Quarles, who placed 28th with a 29:01 effort.
Stephanie Baer placed 32nd (30:13), Shellie Taylor 37th (31:58),
Hannah Lanier 39th (32:33) and
Jessica Jacobe 42nd (36:49).
