PINEVILLE - For the fifth straight week, the Louisiana College softball team is ranked No. 1 in teh National Fastpitch Coaches Association's polls.
And, for the second time this year, the Lady Wildcats are now preparing for a showdown with theteam ranked No. 2.
Earlier in the year, LC faced off against then No. 2 Texas-Tyler at home. This Saturday at 2 p.m,, at Senior Day, the Lady Wildcats will host current No. 2 and divisional rival East Texas Baptist in their home finale.
LC, currenlty 32-2 overall and 16-2 in American Southwest Conference East Division play, was a consensus pick for No. 1 in the NFCA poll.
ETBU and Texas-Tyler, both of the ASC East, followed at No. 2 and No, 3 with Ohio Northern and Christopher Newport rounding out the top five.
Mississippi College, which LC swept earlier this week, checked in at No. 19, giving teh ASC East four teams in the top 25.
